Students interested in playing all other sports besides football, cheerleading, and volleyball must have their physicals turned in by August 30th.

Date:August 5-7
Ages 4-11
Time: 9:00 to 12:00.
Snacks provided.
$10.00 per day or $25 for all 3 days. 2nd child ---$20.00
Registration by July 26th.

Media Day Date Changed to August 8th.

The date of Media Day has changed to August 8th.  The times are the same.  Junior High Football pictures will be taken at a later date.

Junior High Football Practice Begins August 19th

Jr. High Football practice will begin August 19, 2013 @ 2:30.  Shorts, helmets, cleats.
 Jr. High Football Pictures will be taken after school starts.

Wee Poms, Jr. Poms & Raiderettes Cheerleader Camp

Cheerleader Camp for Wee Poms, Jr. Poms and Raiderettes will be August 5th-7th from 9:00 - 12:00.  Snacks will be provided.

Driving School

Coach's Driving School will be offering classes at DA.  If your child is a rising 10th grader contact Susan Hughes at DA for more information and cost.

July School Office Hours

The school office will be closed July 1st thru July 5th.  The office will reopen on July 6th with hours from 9:00 - 1:00 for the month of July.

JV and Varsity Cheerleading Camp 2013

The Dorchester Academy Varsity and JV Cheerleading Squads participated in a Universal Cheerleading Association Home Camp during the week of June 3-5.  Counselors from UCA came in each day during the hours of 9-4 and taught new cheers and dances to the girls.  At 4:00 p.m., the JV girls left and the Varsity Squad remained to participate in team building and bonding activities led by Sponsor, Penny Fender.  We have never held this type of camp before.  Some comments from the girls about this camp experience were:

"I loved the boot camp part and the bonding time with the other cheerleaders."

"I liked stunting and staying the night in the gym."

"This camp was great, don't change anything about it for next year."

For the most part, all the girls enjoyed this experience other than the lack of sleep and the cold showers.  I believe this gave the girls the opportunity to really get to know each other and to work as a team with the extra activities planned --- so we are asking that all of our fans ---be prepared to expect the unexpected!!!
