SCISA Art Contest

High School students: Mrs. G is looking for students that want to compete in this year's SCISA art contest. We have some very talented students that have never competed before. Don't let your talents go unseen.

If you are interested Mrs. Glidden will arrange for you to have time in the art room to work on your project and will also help you decide what to create for the competition.

Let's pull together and make this a real competition. We want to put Dorchester Academy on the map as an art school ! Help us bring home the gold !

PTO Meeting 6:00 pm Monday, September 12th in Cafeteria

School Pictures

School pictures will be taken at DA on Thursday, September 15th. Please come to school ready to have your picture taken. A color proof will be sent home in a few weeks for parents to choose a picture package.

Free Computer Monitors

DA has a supply of large, used computer monitors that we would love to send home with you. Check with the office for more information.

Grandparent's Day

Grandparents, please come join your grandchildren at Dorchester Academy for a continental breakfast on Wednesday, September 14th. The DA PTO will be serving breakfast from 7:15 am to 8:00 am in the cafeteria. Please make plans to stay for a special Chapel service in the gym starting at 8:10. A sign-up sheet has been sent home with each student,

Junior Ring Ceremony

The Junior Ring Ceremony will be Wednesday, November 30.

Lower School Author Reading

October 5th at 9:00 am the Lower School will be treated to an Author Reading with Charleston author Cynthia Grosso. The book is titled " Proper Penguin".

Junior High Football Practice

The Junior High Football team will NOT have practice on Labor Day, Monday, September 5, 2011.

Congratulation to our 2011 graduates who are playing collegiate ball: Jamie Collins who is playing baseball at Francis Marion, Michael Gruber who is playing football at Brevard College and Thomas McAlhany who is playing baseball at Florence - Darlington Tech. We are so proud of you all !

PowerSchool

We are continuing to have issues with the PowerSchool gradebook. The PowerSchool tech team is working on the issue and we hope to be up very soon. We are very sorry for this inconvenience.
